Patrick Prince Ugochukwu
I’m a 17-year-old student from Nigeria who cares deeply about storytelling and the world around me. Writing is how I speak my truth, especially when it comes to issues that affect us every day but often get ignored. I believe words can spark change, and I try to use mine to start conversations that matter.

This essay is a simple but powerful reflection on how we are slowly destroying our own home, our environment, and pretending it is someone else’s problem. It speaks in a relatable way using everyday examples like a mother trying to save a dying tree or a young person making something useful out of scraps. It is not about waiting for big promises but about doing the little things that matter. In the end, it reminds us that if we do not rise up and take action ourselves, no one will do it for us.
