“When the Trees Fought Back” is a speculative eco-fiction story set in a climate-ravaged 2050 Nigeria. It follows a young activist named Chidera who encounters a forgotten forest spirit and sparks a rebellion against environmental destruction. Through a blend of myth, activism, and nature’s fury, the story imagines a world where restoration is both magical and possible reminding us that healing the earth begins with courage, action, and hope.
