My name is Kayla Uwangue I am a 15 year old girl, who loves to read and write (especially poetry), I study sciences in school, as I want to become a Doctor, but I still make time for writing. My poem “We Didn't Always Live Like This” reflects on what I’ve noticed changing around me, The way trees are fewer, the air is more polluted, and how homes don’t feel as strong anymore. It’s about how we got here slowly, while no one really noticed, and how that slow fading became normal. I wrote it to remind myself and the readers that we still have time to change this.
