The Beauty Of Old

MERCY KEHINDE AYODELE

As the former Head Girl of my school, I consistently demonstrated leadership and dedication, which extended beyond my role into various extracurricular activities.
One such endeavor was my enthusiastic participation in a tree planting program organized by the ‘Trees2art’ foundation, where I actively contributed to environmental sustainability efforts within our school community.
This experience not only showcased my commitment to ecological preservation but also my ability to collaborate effectively with diverse groups toward a common goal.
Additionally, my involvement in clubs like the Jet Club for science students and the War Against Indiscipline (WAI) Brigade further exemplifies my passion for personal academic and community development. Through these engagements, I have honed my communication, problem-solving, and teamwork skills, all of which are essential attributes for a successful scholar.
I also participated in various competitions for my school. One good instance, was my participation in the 15th edition of the NCF/Ambassador Aduke Alakija Memorial National Schools’ Art & Essay competition with the theme “Only One Earth.”
I am confident that my multifaceted experiences and positive contributions demonstrate my readiness to excel in academic pursuits while making a meaningful impact on the world around me.

“Beauty of Old” captures the grace of aging through nature’s quiet poetry. The dried leaf, though no longer vibrant, shares space and soil with a young plant, reminding us that beauty isn’t only in bloom, but also in what came before. The old gives way, supports, and completes the cycle of life with such calm elegance and wisdom.
