1. Two hands – One emerging and one submerging:
The emerging hand, healthy and elegant, symbolizes the current generation or those trying to uplift and restore.
The submerging hand, skeletal and decayed, suggests damage, death, or the fading remnants of the past — likely a warning about environmental degradation or societal decay.
2. The spider:
The spider, hanging between the two hands, often symbolizes creation, interconnectedness, and the web of life.
It’s being suspended between restoration and decay — reflecting the delicate balance of our ecosystem or society that can either be rescued or allowed to rot.
3. Water:
Water is the element where the decayed hand sinks — a metaphor for pollution, climate crisis, or ignored responsibility.
It also acts as a threshold between what we are losing and what we can still save.
The artwork symbolizes Generation Restoration through the elegant hand retrieving the spider from decay, reflecting efforts to save what is dying. Shaping Our Future is shown in the choice to rescue or abandon it, highlighting the responsibility this generation holds for the future.
