Patience Agada

Patience Agada, widely known as WordsDiva, is a Mass Communication graduate from the University of Jos, Nigeria, and a passionate creative using art to drive social transformation. As a spoken word poet, voiceover artiste, and advocate for gender equity and climate justice, Patience channels her artistry to address gender-based violence, human rights, and environmental issues, inspiring empathy and civic action.

She has performed on notable platforms including the Nigerian Army Resource Center, Jos Book Fair, Baraxana Arts Festival, Lighters’ Conference, and Rhythm of Laughter by Osama Akpononu. Through these performances, she fosters awareness and dialogue around critical social concerns.

A published writer, Patience’s works appear in California Best Emerging Poets (2019), Coffee Anthology (2019), and Candles in the Dark (2021), among others. Her poetry not only entertains but also advocates for justice and collective healing.

Her accolades include: Winner, Blue Seraph Poetry Competition (2024); Best Spoken Word Artist, JOGAMA Awards (2018 & 2019); Top 5 Finalist, #4ABetterNigeria Competition (NOA, 2019); Top 20 Poet, Nigeria Educators MUN Poetry Contest (2024); and Top 100 Changemakers in Plateau State (2024) by the Toyin Wiggins Changemakers Foundation.

Patience’s community work includes volunteering with Dubawa Nigeria, Africans Rising, and Junior Achievement Nigeria. She also founded the Poetry Academy Online with WordsDiva, a free monthly mentorship program that empowers young creatives in poetry writing and performance.

Nature and You is a poem that outlines the symbiotic relationship of human beings and their environment. It exposes the strains this symbiotic relationship faces, it's beauty and a call to being deliberate in conserving nature, hence preserving this beautiful relationship. It's a call to fostering a peaceful coexistence between NATURE AND YOU!
