Yinka Emaleku
I am a 17-year-old poet from Ondo state, Nigeria. I am also a second-year law student at Afe Babalola University, Ado-Ekiti (ABUAD). Taking walks, cooking, writing, and reading remain my favorite activities. I hope to become a full-time writer sometime in the future, specializing in poetry and short stories, but my passion for the legal profession endures.
Mother Earth Cries

Through vivid imagery and personification, it portrays Earth as a grieving mother, bewildered by the horrifying death of her children- humans, plants, animals, etc. It highlights the damage caused by human actions but offers hope by showing how the younger generation is committed to restoring the planet through clean energy, reforestation, and climate action, symbolized by their pledge to SDG 13. The poem ultimately envisions a renewed Earth that would be heavenly and continue for years to come.
