Mosaic of Hope – Restoring the globe

Joshua Pelumi Ogundairo

I am a dedicated individual driven by the passion to see a positive change and solve societal problems. I am the current President of the Association of Mechatronics Engineering Students, Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta. I am deeply involved in volunteering and social impact because I see it as an avenue to impact others. For instance, I led and represented my team at the 20th Edition of the Green Switch Academy, where we identified the environmental challenges with our current transportation system in Nigeria and proposed an eco-friendly solution to tackle the identified challenges
I also participated in the United Nations Millennium Fellowship 2023, where I raised awareness among about 200 university students on the SDGs, upcycling, and global citizenship. Currently, I serve as the programme coordinator for Intellect Africa, an NGO that aims to empower African students by providing access to global opportunities, mentorship, and skill-building programmes. I also volunteer as a tutor in my Church and department, where I teach my mates and juniors alike.

"Mosaic of Hope - Restoring the globe" is a digital artwork composed of icons and images representing real-world climate restoration activities. Each tile in this mosaic symbolizes a small but meaningful act of healing, coming together to form the image of our shared planet. This piece is a visual reminder that collective efforts - no matter how small - regenerate the Earth. It celebrates restoration, unity, and the hope that defines our generation’s role in shaping a greener, more sustainable future.
